What intriguing title so I know. Most of the photos I've made so far in my series " Estuary " are made with a modest (but awesome) compact camera, autofocus, which meets the sweet name of Mju:, pronounced "Miou". This device was produced by Olympus between 1997 and 2007. He is better known across the Atlantic under the trade name "Stylus Epic" and was initially fitted with a 35mm f/3.5 lens. The second version, which I happily discovered in 1998, is equipped with the same fixed focus wide angle but gain one stop opening and becomes a 35mm f/2.8.
is the unit by which I became interested in photography, before buy my first SLR. To 1999/2000 when I had the opportunity to work in the photo department of a big name, the first NPC began to generate interest from some customers, but they were expensive and only rarely exceeded the 2.1 megapixels. So at this time distance tree, I remember selling kits mainly SLR (Pentax and Canon, mostly) and a few shovels of Mju: II.
The objective is very good for a camera in this price range (allow 80 euros new in 2008). The finder could not be more spartan, but ultimately it remains the front loiiiiiiin Leica Minilux, so ... Finally, I think what makes the strength of the Mju: II is both brilliant ergonomics (it is also a small compact camera and yet this a "handle") and quality measurement of light from his cell . I must confess indeed that night and day, photos of trips Mju: He always seemed to me a high quality exhibition.
Today my copy was pretty Barroude. I think I have released more films that come out of some Leica M in a lifetime. The goal must be skated as it pretty sticker ... but I love my Mju: II!
